A trip to Lake Monate, one of the most pristine lakes in Italy, perfect for a relaxing swim

A medium difficulty route with a long uphill stretch, perfectly feasible with our bikes but still to be tackled with some energy.
In this case, the main interest in the route is its destination, particularly appreciated by anyone who wishes to take a break from a sporty holiday with a bit of relax and some dozing in the sun.

Our destination is Lake Monate, one of the cleanest lakes in Italy, ideal spot for a dip and a few hours of relax. In the lake's pristine waters it is forbidden to motor sail, and the beaches are all well equipped and in a perfect state. Full of restaurants and pizzerias, it is a wonderful destination for a rest after a bit of cycling around the countryside.

To return we can either take the same road or follow the signs to Taino/Angera, which is a shorter way but mostly along the main road ,and therefore not ideal for cycling.
